    Default CAWI software

    Hi,

Has anyone had any experience in using SelectSurvey (ASP version)? It looks pretty sound, but I'd like to hear if anyone has any experience in using it.

    Best regards

While we're on the subject, I have a client who is looking to run and manage their own web-surveys. I'm looking for something that can be picked up quickly and which won't be too daunting for a beginner, but someone who does know about questionnaires, questionnaire design and analysis requirements - so not too simple. Colleagues here have mentioned Confirmit but I don't know how easy that is to start with.

We have our own in-house tools and expertise, but they're at the advanced end of the spectrum and typically used for more advanced survey designs incorporating trade-offs and such like, but it does mean we can hand-hold our client through issues such as server set-up and web-design issues.

As known there are Web "services" like www.zoomrang.com but also consider www.surveysystem.com

    Hi Saul,

Hostedsurvey sounds like something that your client might find useful. It has a wide range of question options and it has an easy to use GUI. I've used it for about 8 years and have been pretty happy with it. Their server is also pretty fast and we've never had an issue with downtime.

I just want to check are these hosted survey types suitable for professional level surveys? I had a feeling that zoomerang was more aimed at amateurs in small businesses?

This one, http://www.hostedsurvey.com/home.html , has the full range of question types, SSL security, response restriction options, and no logos or banners advertising themselves.

The survey platform itself is pretty solid, the ability to customize the appearance of the survey to resemble a client's own website colour scheme etc. is pretty easy to use as well. The reporting functions are pretty basic, but the data can be easily exported into an SPSS compatible format.

Overall it's a great system for a web based service, (we just happen to be looking for something with complex scripting options for some upcoming projects that we can host internally).

    Saul, et al

Though I haven't (needed nor) used zoomrang I have received data from clients who have. There is a "basic" usage plan then one can add capabilites/modules at a cost. About all I know.

I have had limited experience with SelectSurvey, but what capabilities are you looking for? I happen to be an owner of a pretty handy platform for online survey creation. We also customize our software to suit our clients more advanced needs... Maybe I can help? ( I'm still new to this forum, and don't want to go around plugging my services un-warrented)

    Hi John,

What we are looking for is the ability to use both GUI for standard question types, and more customizable scripting capabilities for complex skip patterns.

As an example, we currently have a project where one of the skip patterns is dependent upon those providing more than one response to a multiple choice question, those only selecting any single response would skip somewhere else.

Our current system can't deal with this, thus we are looking for something else that we can host.

If this is something that you can assist with, we'd love to hear from you, send via private message.

    Take care
