Hello there.
This is my first time on the boards. I am currently in career transition and am pursuing opportunities in market research. I have a background in web-based technical writing and web usability/content development. After doing a great deal of research on how I can best make this transition to market research, I realized my web usability experience is definitely marketable in the mr area. I do understand that I want to learn more about the fundamentals of market research and have found an online certificate course offered by the University of Georgia called Principles of Marketing Research. Here is the website link: http://www.gactr.uga.edu/is/mr/course_details.phtml Does anyone know anything about this course? It sounds like a good course covering the basics of market research. I am not ready to enter into a Masters program in market research. So this course sounds like it could help me to be more marketable to potential employers. I would appreciate any feedback or advice any of you seasoned researchers may have about someone like me who is looking to transition into the field. Thanks.

From what I have seen, the UGA-AMA course in the MR Core knowledge base is a great intro to the principles of MR. There is also a nice set of courses offered by the Burke Institute and a nice summer program at Notre Dame.
Good luck |
