Default Data consideration for Cluster Analysis

Hi,

The variables under consideration for cluster analysis are of categorical but i have few variables of likert scale and rest of the variables are of multiple choice and single choice.
Do i need to perform seperate cluster analysis for these different data variables?
Is there any kind of cluster analysis which considered mixed type of data?
If need to do any transformation, how shall i proceed it?

Please advise as this project is running thru strict deadlines.

thanks,
zabb
